Our Governors

The Governing Body

The Governing Body of a school is made up of people who are concerned for the education of children, and in particular the children here at Otterham. They have specific responsibilities in looking after the welfare of the school, its pupils and its staff.

As a parent of a child at our school, you could stand as a “Parent Governor” for a period of 4 years.

Below is a list of current Governors.

Mr Julian Elson - Chair of Governors, Community Governor (Personnel, Whistleblowing & Finance)

Mrs Naomi Quinn - Vice Chair (Personnel & Finance)

Mrs Helen Ward – Headteacher (Personnel & Finance)

Mrs Gayle Crocker  - Parent Governor (Personnel & Curriculum)

Mrs Trish Foley - Staff Governor (Curriculum & Health & Safety)

Mr Nic Osborne - Community Governor (Premises)

Mrs Sarah Northcott - LA Governor (Data & Maths)

Mrs Rachael Quinn  – Parent Governor

Mrs Hilary Dipper - Clerk to Governors

Some of the questions a Governor should be able to answer:

What are the schools values?

How are we going to raise the standards for all children?

Do we have the right staff?

Do we have a sound financial strategy?

How well does the Curriculum provide for and stretch all pupils?

Do we keep our buildings and assets in good condition and are they well used?
