Welcome

Welcome to Class 2, with children in Years 2 and 3.  Our teacher is Miss Percival

Maths

In these pictures the children are enjoying maths games. This was the final day of the adding and subtracting unit for maths and the games allowed children to practise all the skills and knowledge that they had gained.

Outdoor Learning

In these photos, the children were creating pictures to decorate Tresparrett Methodist church ready for our harvest festival. The children collected various leaves, sticks and mosses to create their harvest and autumn themed pictures.

Daya

On 12th October we had a visit from Daya. She came in to help us learn about Islam. We learnt about how they pray, what they wear and why and the sorts of foods that they eat.

Sensei Jack

Sensei Jack came to visit our school. He gave the whole school an assembly where he talked about what he does. He then had a short PE lesson with class 2. He showed the children some moves and techniques from the martial arts that he teaches. The children thoroughly enjoyed his visit.

Steve Manning

Steve Manning, who is a fantastic story teller, came to see us on 18th October. He told stories from the reign of Elizabeth the first, taking on the role of Sir Francis Drake. The children worked in groups and created freeze frames from the stories that they had listened to. A fun morning was had by all!

Residential

Class 2’s residential in Tintagel and Boscastle was blessed with fantastic weather. They enjoyed King Arthurs Halls, Tintagel Castle, St Materianas Church and the Old Post Office. On the second day we walked back to school along the beautiful Valency Valley. All of the children behaved impeccably and didn’t complain once about all the exercise that they got! It was a fabulous couple of days.

Ghost Dancers Experience

The children of class 2 were very lucky to be a part of the ghost dancers experience for the whole of the summer term of 2017. They had 5 music workshops where they created a piece of music. As well as this, they designed and made their costumes with a visual artist and they created a dance with two professional dancers from Dance Republic. The children chose the theme of South American animals and consequently decided to be a prowl of jaguars. During this experience, the children have worked incredibly hard and it was completed with a performance at the Eden Project. It was fabulous to see so many parents there watching their children take part in such a memorable day.

Falmouth Maritime Museum

On Wednesday 12th July Class 2 visited the Falmouth Maritime Museum. They had three workshops where they learnt about how the Vikings traded, dressed and how they made coins. We also had time to explore the museum. A fabulous day was had by all.
