Friends of Otterham School Update – November 2021
We have had some very successful fundraising events recently, this is down to the goodwill of parents, guardians, grandparents and the local community. It doesn’t go unnoticed and we are forever thankful for the level of engagement we get at Otterham.
The first hotdog Friday before half term was a roaring success with over £100.00 raised.
We then had the Great Otterham Sleepover which was enjoyed by a large number of pupils. Special thanks to the staff who make this event happen and kindly donate all profit to the Friends. This event raised £650.48.
Following on, the Christmas Raffle was well supported by all, enabling us to raise another £364.00.
We are extremely grateful to all the local businesses who donated raffle prizes.

Friends Update March 2021
Hello All,
The Friends have been running in a slightly different way to normal due to all the Covid restrictions we have had over the past year. However, we are very much still active with discussions and fundraising still taking place, despite not being able to hold a full meeting.
Firstly, thank you to all parents and carers who got involved and bought tickets for the Christmas Raffle we held at the end of November. An even bigger thank you must go to the parents and local businesses who kindly donated raffle prizes. Due to everyone’s generosity we managed to raise a fantastic £346.
Thanks again also for donating to the Bags2School collection, the shelter was certainly full up with bags. This generated another £183 for school funds.
The Friends have recently purchased books for each classroom, and additional headphones when required with the funds raised.
Your donations also paid for the individual Christmas parties and crafts that took place in each classroom at the end of term.
We are all looking forward to hopefully a brighter Christmas this year where we can plan for a whole school activity once again.
Coming up, we will shortly be sending home a colouring competition for the children to participate in before the Easter Holidays, if they wish to do so. Entry to the competition will be a £1 donation, with all entrants receiving a small chocolate. There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes for each class.
Although we haven’t been able to hold a full meeting in the last year, the Friends are always looking for new members to join us. We lost a longstanding member last Summer with children moving on to Secondary School, and we are sadly going to lose another this Summer. If you think that joining the Friends is something you might want to explore, then please do get in touch with one of the current members, or via Kerry at reception.
