Welcome to Class 3, with children in Reception and Year 1.  Our teacher is Mrs Blackburn and Mrs Kinsella.

Class 3 had great fun on Friday 2nd February raising awareness for the charity NSPCC. They held a maths morning as the theme this year was ‘Numbers’. There was a wide variety of maths activities for the children to participate in. We made number hats, shape rockets and played lots of maths games. At break time, we bought delicious cakes. The children also came into school wearing number themed clothes. Everyone had great fun and over £120 was raised.

Class 3 were lucky enough to visit the Eden Project last week in relation to their future topic of plants. The children started off with a walk across the grounds of the Eden project. We could see the huge biomes and lots of plants along the way. Once we reached our “camp” a lady from the Eden Project read a story to us. Some of us got to be involved in the story and we acted out parts.

After the story, we went ice-skating. All the children had a huge amount of fun on the ice. We used sledges and other toys and pulled each other around. Later, we had lunch then we looked around one of the biomes. We saw all sorts of plants, some were enormous!

We all had such a fantastic day!

On Tuesday 19th September, Class 3 held a pirate day! We all came to school dressed as pirates and carried out a range of pirate themed activities. We made cardboard pirates, designed and created a pirate ship and also had a special pirate themed lunch. We all had great fun being pirates!

On Thursday 12th October, the people from ‘Open The Book’ came to visit Class 3. They shared a story from the bible with us. After the story, each child in Reception were given their very own bible to take home. Thank you very much ‘Open The Book!’

On Thursday 12th October, Class 3 had a visit from Daya. We had great fun learning all about the Muslim culture. We learned how Muslims pray and why this is so important to Muslims. We also really enjoyed dressing up in Muslim clothes! We would like to say a massive thank you to Daya! We have all learned so much!
